things are crazy and totally amazingly awesome at the same time.
im scared and stoked on the big things coming up, but thats ok because thats how it is.

holy christ does danny mcbride make me laugh.
i just got a copy of the dvd screener of his HBO pilot, east bound and down. Mr. Mcbride plays a down and out former mlb pitcher. holy fucking hell. its definitely hilarious. as good if not better as the jack black/owen wilson/ben stiller show heat vision and jack.
oh the world of unaired pilots. how great is it?
sigh.
either way, more danny mcbride please.

ive long been anticipating this film, being as it was definitely one of the first books i can remember reading as a child.
over at aint it cool news they have an amazing interview with spike jonze up. talking about his love and painstaking work with this masterful childs story. far to often, as is mentioned in the article, people in hollywood dont trust childrens material to stand up well on its own. they damned a re-write with extra elements thrown in that have NOTHING to do with the original. and thankfully, spike jonze was able to eschew all that and come up with what im thinking will be, one of the truest films of all time.

He was smiling... That's right. You know, that, that Luke smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn't know it 'fore, they could tell right then that they weren't a-gonna beat him. That old Luke smile. Oh, Luke. He was some boy. Cool Hand Luke. Hell, he's a natural-born world-shaker.
poor paul newman finally lost his battle with cancer. he will be missed, having grown up a huge fan of films such as the aforementioned cool hand luke, and of course him and mr. redford in butch cassidy and the sundance kid, and the sting, i was a huge fan. even his roles that werent really that well known such as his character in the hudsucker proxy, touched me, and made me really fucking like him. its a shame that he had retired, but i guess that i cant complain, he did make over 50 films, so he does leave behind an amazing legacy.
envy thursday split is acceptable. best thursday material yet, i love envy, but i cant help but feel like they really dont have as much of a revolutionary element anymore. everything just sort of ends up sounding the same. which isnt a bad thing, but lets just say that i expected more from the band that blew my mind with their first full length.

its ninas birthday today! im going downstairs to get a red bull and cook her another cake. the one i made yesterday was substandard and didnt work out the way i wanted it to. Otherwise, the new d4 rocks. spazz is really making me feel like i can take over the world, and dizzee rascal totally slams my mind. fix up, look sharp!
tonite, bowling and boozing for the ladies bday. should be a totally righteous time. as in totally fucking badass and righteous. as in awesome. ok, cake time.

my lady is in austin. she says its the promised land for people who love movies and margaritas. apparently, the day after she leaves they are doing a showing of fistful of dollars featuring all you can eat spaghetti. and i hear that they are going to show slapshot at the local hockey rink. holy fuck thats awesome. its just a bummer that i couldnt go. well, theres always next time. and of course, its a bummer that shes in texas and not going to andy kratz' bday party with me tonite.
bernie mac is dead. thats a bummer, whenever i watch whos the man, hes some of my fav stuff.
otherwise, just got my new IPD catalog. im going to try to convince my mother to order me car stuff for my bday and xmas, im looking into anti sway bars and springs. i figure, why not get the most out of the ride in my car. even though it doesnt have a stereo, or a drivers window. hahahah.

man, i love jeremy clarkson. Top Gear is totally my new favorite show. it reminds me of when i was a kid, and i used to watch formula one racing, but with a dash of humor. either way, this video blows my fucking mind, watching that precision driver do that stuff, is fucking amazing.
